Thirteen-year-old Fagnu sets out on an arduous journey after his grandfather falls seriously ill. He clings to a story he has heard from him since childhood — the legend of *Pataal-Tee*, the mysterious holy water believed to rise from a world beneath our own and possess the power to heal.

Despite his grandmother's warnings, Fagnu sets out into the mountains in search of this mythical water to fulfill his grandfather's last wish. What begins as a desperate attempt to save someone he loves gradually takes him into a world where folklore, nature, belief and reality exist side by side.

Set against the lives and traditions of the Bhotiya community, *Pataal-Tee* is a tender coming-of-age story about a child's first encounter with the ideas of love, loss, faith and mortality.

Sound designed by the Oscar-winning sound designer **Rasul Pookutty** and edited by the renowned writer of *Tumbbad* and *Paatal Lok*, this film at its heart is a child's very human refusal to let go. The Himalayan setting and the Bhotiya folklore create a world that feels both real and mythical. Water becomes more than something Fagnu is searching for; it becomes a metaphor for life, death, nature and the fragile relationship between human beings and the world around them.
